All Things Made New

This weekend, I recieved an e-mail that Pastor Ponnatee's wife Suwaree, passed away September 19, 2009 at 7:43 a.m. I did not know Suwaree personally, but I know that she was very close to God and loved Him with all her heart. I think we should now pray for Pastor Ponnatee since, even though he knows that she is with the Lord he must miss her a lot. It was Ponnatee who inspired us to start this blog, and so I think we should do something to show our appreciation, like an e-card or something like that. There are also plans for a memorial service, so we could show up with a real card and give it to him in person.

Any suggestions?

2 corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

2 Corinthians 4:16
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.

Just in case we can't make it or have everyone sign a real card in person, if we do an e-card maybe can get everyone to put a special message for him.

Also, he told us not to say "I'm sorry" or show sympathy because this is a time of rejoicing that his wife is no longer suffering but is in Heaven. So let's try not have too much "sorry for your loss" and just send words of encouragement.

So...
> Each of us say a message. If you don't know Pastor Ponnatee, simply saying that you are a member of the blog that he influenced can be really encouraging.
> If anyone has an idea of which e-card to send, put the link. Either Justin or me can send the card through our email address.

What do you mean?

What we're going to do is put whatever note we want here on the comments, and I'll take all of those and put them on the e-card.

But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope.
14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.

15For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.

16For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and (AS)the dead in Christ will rise first.

17Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.

18Therefore comfort one another with these words.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

Be sure to also try to keep it short, since I'll be putting a lot. ;-) Thanks.

Weep not for Her my friend
When her time below does end
For her life belongs to Him
Who will raise the dead again
The wounds this world left on her soul Will all be healed
For her saviour knows her name

Thank you do much for everything you taught me at the Asian Pastors Retreat, I can't explain how big an impact it made on me.

The e-card has been sent!

Here is what I wrote:

Hi, Pastor Ponnatee! I think you remember the blog started for teens to read the Bible together. It is still going, and so far we have read a total of 9 books in the Bible. We rejoice with you for Mrs. Suwaree. Here are some messages they sent for you:

"Weep not for Her my friend
When her time below does end
For her life belongs to Him
Who will raise the dead again
The wounds this world left on her soul Will all be healed
For her saviour knows her name" -Abraham Lam

"Thank you so much for everything you taught me at the Asian Pastors Retreat, I can't explain how big an impact it made on me." -Justin Tjahjono

"I just want to thank you for being such a great influence and inspiration to us. We have been so blessed by your testimony, and we take the time to rejoice with you as we celebrate Mrs. Suwaree in Heaven!" -Samantha Calimbahin
